A Message from the 2013 Campaign Chair

The recent historical economic downturn has impacted everyone and more folks in our communities find that they need assistance, some for the first time ever. The 24 member agencies of the United Way of Harrison County are the frontline organizations that provide child and adult care, emergency food assistance and shelters, programs for the disabled and elderly, and other essential services for our neighbors in need. Yet, while the number needing help is growing, federal funding for some of these agencies that provide support is decreasing. They need our help and we can’t let them down.
I have been involved with and supported the United Way for many years. Now, more than ever, the United Way needs our help and I’m honored to lead that effort as this year’s campaign chair. It’s up to us to pitch in as best we can to provide for our neighbors in need. That’s why our theme for this year’s campaign is - Neighbors Helping Neighbors; LIVE UNITED. Please do your part and join me to help ensure that services provided by these United Way agencies continue to be available to you, your family, your friends and your neighbors. |
