For 55 years the United Way of Harrison County has been committed to making the most of our community’s resources in order to improve the quality of life for everyone. When you support the United Way, you're supporting a powerful movement to improve lives, provide lasting solutions, and create a better community.
United Way’s volunteer-led assessments assure the wisest investment of donor dollars. The result is support for diverse programs within numerous human service agencies. I personally believe in what these agencies are doing for our community. I know that they make a difference in the lives of hundreds of people every day-- our co-workers and neighbors, even our friends and family.
The needs in our community are unfortunately bigger than ever. In order to meet those needs, we have a very ambitious goal, the largest ever. That is why we need your help. Please join us as we continue to work for a good life for everyone in our community. Help us celebrate 55 years of service to Harrison County and learn what it meansto LIVE UNITED!
Charity Softball Game
Although the final score read: "WBOY 14, WDTV 12"... The Harrison County United Way was the real winner in the 2nd annual charity softball game between the two local television stations. $131 were was raised in donations from fans in attendance at the Summit Park Fields. Members of the Harrison County Parks & Recreation Department graciously donated their time to prepare the field and act as umpires for the contest.
Dollars raised during the competition go toward the 2011 fundraising campaign to fund programs and services meeting critical needs in our community every day.
